"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. "
--Martha Graham

"Creating Something?"

We are often asked about our name, what are you creating anyway?  The honest answer is, we don't  exactly know, and we love it that way! We offer family centered educational and creative opportunities that accept and include each unique participant. You are an  irreplaceable creative source, and we want to celebrate that! Or in the words of the irreplaceable Kurt Vonnegut

"Practicing an art, no matter how  well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow....

Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend... Do it as well as you possibly can.

You will get an enormous reward...You will have created something."

What Comes Next?

I was born in a suburb of Chicago into a large and loving, mixed faith, family. I have always felt blessed to be raised to recognize the importance of honoring different points of view, and I love to collect stories! I strive to continually support a diverse and rigorous classroom through collaborative efforts, community building, and personal responsibility. I foster a growth mindset for multiple learning styles in my classrooms, and delight in meeting a child where he or she is to help guide them to where they need to be, or as I often tell my students during an assessment, "I'd like to know what you know, and where I can help you to grow! Teachers love to teach!"

Immediately upon graduating from Texas Tech with honors and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 2001, I continued studies as an early childhood educator music specialist and ran a business while raising my own young children for many years. With the changes that life often brings, and the need to adjust and grow, and my family moved to Phoenix in 2017. I received my Arizona K-8 General Education Teaching Certification in 2019, and find the classroom as a practical place to apply my diverse sets of skills to create something meaningful and to work to be a voice of compassion and safety in an uncertain world. With a few moves through the years, the winding road has lead me through Connecticut, New Mexico, Texas, Illinois, Colorado, and now Arizona!

Teaching elementary and middle school is this next chapter of my life story. I'm a hard working, well organized creative professional who wants to help the underrepresented find their voice, care for others, build community, and create something new. It seems that the obvious, yet elusive, answer for this particular individual, is the exciting and dedicated world of public education. ¡Bienvenido!
